Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
We have not previously measured emissions and have found that whilst we have accurate data for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, there is too much missing data for reporting on the subset of Scope 3 emissions (Categories: 4, 5, 6, 7 & 9) as defined in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard.
We feel the use of secondary (average) data for the calculation of Scope 3 emissions (although acceptable for reporting purposes) would not be accurate enough for us to be able to produce an meaningful carbon footprint and plan in carbon reductions in these areas.

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets in relation to Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years across Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to 3.13 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 15%.
Carbon Reduction Projects will include Scope 3 emissions, but as these are currently unmeasured, we are not able to provide an accurate reduction target for Scope 3 emissions. This will be provided in the next published Carbon Reduction Plan.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Over the next 12 months, some of the initiatives we plan to implement are:
- Install roof insulation in company offices.
- Install solar panels.
- Transition to full LED lighting.
- Consolidate deliveries into 1 weekly collection.
- Make use of Teams/Zoom over in person meetings, where possible.
- Transition to fully recycled & recyclable packaging materials.
- Sign up to The Green Digital Academy
Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greehouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements.
The required subset of Scope 3 emissions have not bene reported on, but these will be reported on within 12 months and in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
